The kids had a test over the planets last week, and they did an amazing job! They worked very hard to learn the planets in order from the Sun and also know their relative size and place in space. This week, we will continue our study of space by learning about how gravity keeps the planets in orbit around the Sun. We will also continue to discuss what factors make the force of gravity stronger or weaker. It is fun to watch the students confidence grow as they work with the new material and master the content. Keep it up, students!

We have been having a great time beginning our study of space. Last week, students began learning about the planets in our solar system. They have learned the order of planets from the Sun and the relative spacing and distance of the planets from each other and from the Sun. Please ask your students how the statement "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos" helps them remember the order of the planets. This week we are continuing to build our knowledge of the planets in the solar system by learning about planets and their mass and their "place in space". Students will also practice concepts such as mass, weight and gravity.
